Hon. Daniel Kalungo, the Minority Leader of the Wachache Association and aspiring Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Railways Ward, reaffirmed his commitment to healthcare improvement during a key event at Lumumba Hospital in Kisumu.

Kalungo joined Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr. Mathews Owili to witness the opening of a new theatre facility at the county hospital. The milestone is expected to boost medical services and enhance healthcare delivery for residents of Railways Ward and the wider Kisumu community.

Speaking on the development, Kalungo emphasized that health remains a critical pillar in any growing society and deserves continuous attention and investment. He noted that strengthening healthcare systems ensures communities receive better and more reliable services.

The event has drawn attention to Kalungo’s rising political profile ahead of the 2027 General Election. Branded with the hashtag #Kalungo2027, his presence at the county function signals an active push for the Railways Ward MCA seat. As Minority Leader of the Wachache Association, he has been leveraging community engagements to build grassroots support.

The new theatre at Lumumba Hospital is part of ongoing efforts by the County Government of Kisumu to upgrade public health infrastructure. Kalungo’s attendance alongside senior county officials highlights his alignment with service delivery agendas, particularly under his #AfyaBora campaign focus.

While not yet officially an MCA, Kalungo is positioning himself as the “incoming” representative for Railways Ward, with his #WachacheAssociation backing appearing to form a key part of his 2027 strategy.
